The landscape of Australian Migration law has shifted with some significant changes to the GSM Skill select points test change which took effect 10 September 2016.

The crux of the change is to the points test for skilled migration. There are now five additional points available to graduates from Australian institutions with doctorate and masters by research qualifications in the fields of engineering and mathematics, science, technology, information and communication technology fields.To be eligible for the additional points, you will be required to do 2 years of study in Australia.The following fields of education qualifications are proposed to be accepted under this amendment:

Earth Sciences

Mathematical Sciences

Natural and Physical Sciences

Other Natural and Physical Sciences

Physics and Astronomy

Computer Science

Information Systems

Information Technology

Other Information Technology

Aerospace Engineering and Technology
